The dairy of the Dragon Queen

Dear Dairy 
I am a sweet little welsh pony called Rosie but do not be fooled! I may only be 124 cm high and 14 years old but I am really the fastest, most evil ears pony in the world. 

Today I went to Eve's camp. Eve's camp is the best pony camp in the WORLD! I have been on Eve's pony camp before but this time I had to go with Doofus, he is such a big wuss! Anyway, On the first day me and some other ponies went on a big trek up a hill that we got to gallop up, it was sooo much fun! While we were away on the hill Doofus and the other ponies (that I don't even bother with) went up some tiny little hills and apparently Dooofus was such an idiot he wouldn't go  away from me! That day was the best fun ever!!!

English to Shakespearean

English:
This morning I got up and gave the horses a bit of bread and the guinea pigs some grass. Rosie (my pony) has a brand new halter that is nice and soft. Then I went inside and ate breakfast. I had weet-bix for breakfast with lots of sugar! 

Shakespearean:
This m'rning i did get up and gaveth the h'rses a did bite of bread and the guinea pigs some grass.  Rosie (my pony) hast a brand new halt'r yond is nice and soft.  Then i wenteth inside and consumed breakfast.  I hadst weet-bix f'r breakfast with lots of sugar!

Wise words of wisdom

My wise words of wisdom come from Mum's ponies whose name is Doofus.  Doofus says
"Someone else's hay is always better than yours."   
"If you want something that you can't get fight for it even if you have to break something to get it."

This is Doofus in the house.

Guiding principals

The Guiding principal I chose was:  He pai te tirohanga ki ngā mahara mō ngā rā pahemo engari ka puta te māramatanga i runga i te titiro whakamua.   

In English this is: It’s fine to have recollections of the past, but wisdom comes from being able to prepare opportunities for the future.

My thought on this is that it is fine to be like my family, but its fine to be my own person too.  My family dont really like to write poems, but I quite enjoy them and sometimes do them for fun.  This gives me wisdom for my future.

Climate change

Here are some things that I have learnt about Climate change... 

1. That some kids take Fridays off school to protest.  
2. That they want all energy come from wind and sun. 
3. Climate change is warming up our earth.    

My family are helping climate change by biking to school instead of taking the car. I would ride my pony to school if I could.

The Thunderbolt Pony by Stacy Gregg 
The Thunderbolt Pony is about a a twelve year-old girl called Evie.
Evie has OCD and when the Kaikoura earthquakes shake her town she takes her pony (Gus) her dog (Jock) and her cat (Moxy) down the cracked road to Kaikoura where a rescue ship awaits... 
I chose The Thunderbolt Pony because it is a New Zealand horse story. 

Short (long) story

Doofus's diary 

Hi my name is Doofus and I am a pony.  I live with my Mum, my sweet teddy bear Rosie (she is a gorgeous 12hh Welsh pony) and Rosie's rider Alicia who plays a fun game of lip tickle with me.  Here is one of my diary entries. 

Dear diary.
I want a new mum!  Today she took me to a show.  I rocked the dressage, I looked cool and fancy and  horsesome.  Mum said I was a very good boy, apart from the buck outside the arena - I got told off for that.  Apparently I got second equal with my sweet darling teddy bear (Rosie) and some other horse that I cant remember the name of.

Soooo after my dressage I was hanging out with Rosie at the float eating my hay and it started raining.  Mum put my cover on so I was nice and warm.  BUT THEN Mum said we we going jumping. In the rain!!!.  Has she gone mad! Why Why Why!   She took my warm cover off and we stood in the rain and then had to jump in the rain.  Usually I like jumping but not in the rain.  I want a new Mum!  Can i put her on Trade Me?  Would anyone buy her?  Is she worth anything?

I tried to hold a grudge and dislike her forever, but after a couple of days she feed me some nice food so now I love my Mum.

$10 note (take 2)

I would like to put my pony Rosie on the $10 note.  When Rosie believes in something she is very determined to do it.  So if she is interested in climate change she would definitely make the government do it.  Rosie is interested in water quality (below she is testing the water!).

I think that Jacinda Arden should be on the $10 note.  She has been a great leader for New Zealand.  She helped people when the Christchurch attack happened.

Rosa Parks

Rosa Parks was an African American that was required to sit at the back of the bus because she was 'coloured'. The problem was that the bus driver asked her to move from her seat for a white person.  Rosa Parks refused and so was arrested.  Then there was a protest where no coloured people went on any bus for many months, so bus drivers had no customers. 

Dear diary

Dear Diary. 
Today is my 4,020th day in prison. My cell stinks and my back is sore from sleeping on a a hay mattress. I still believe that it is wrong to have different rules for black people and white people. The food is terrible here, I would LOVE it if they gave me a nice, crunchy apple but instead they just give me plain rice.

I reckon that ponies should be able to come to school. 
There should be a holding paddock at school and a nice lane beside all roads that only horses can go on so they don't get scared by big trucks. It is also helping global warming as there would not be as many car on the roads.

How many more years?

How many more years until I am 25?   


I am 9 so it will be 16 more years till I am 25. I worked this out by thinking, 4 more months  until I am 10  then add 15 years so I am then 25. So the answer to the question is 15 years and 4 months. 

Favorite things to do

Here are my three favorite things to do...     

• Ride my pony Rosie.  
• Go swimming in the river or lake. 
• Play around with the animals. Ponies or Guinea pigs.    
  
  
  

Vicki Wilson

Vicki Wilson      

Vicki Wilson is a very good horse trainer that has worked
with New Zealand's wild horses, the Kiamanawa horses and
competed in many great horse events such as Rode to the horse.

Vicki Wilson's work with horses has made people work with
horses better and brought awareness to the Kiamanawa horses.

Yusra Mardini

Yusra Mardini was born in Syria.  When the Syrian war started her and her sister left Syria on a very long journey to Europe.  The boat they got on to go from Turkey to Greece was an overcrowded dingy and the motor stopped soon after departing.  Yusra and her sister pulled the boat by swimming in the water to stop it capsizing.  They made it to Greece.  Yusra competed in the Olympic games in 2016 in swimming and she has plans to compete in the Olympic games in 2020.

Important to me

 

                   The three things that are probably the most important to me are...

• Our animals - our animals are Rosie ( my pony), Pipsqueak ( my guinea pig), Doofus (Mum's pony), Piglet (Mum's guinea pig) and Rockie (Mithchell's guinea pig)
• My family and friends - Mum, Dad, Mitchell (my brother) my grandparents and my friends.  
• My home - I love our place with the bush that we own and the creeks that come though our paddocks  that have eels in them.
