Evie has OCD and when the Kaikoura earthquakes shake her town she takes her pony (Gus) her dog (Jock) and her cat (Moxy) down the cracked road to Kaikoura where a rescue ship awaits...
I chose The Thunderbolt Pony because it is a New Zealand horse story.

ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing your blog post, this looks like a beautiful story. I like that is a New Zealand story, and that it also incorporates your love of ponies and animals.
I remember hearing about the Kaikoura Earthquake and feeling concerned for our fellow Kiwis living there. I am glad somebody has written a children’s book about it. People have to work together and support one another when tragedy strikes, and the ‘Thunderbolt Pony’ looks like a great example of that.
How would you rate this book out 10? Is it your favourite book? I think Emma Watson would definitely like to read this. Who knows, maybe she would make it into a movie!
