Name change

If I had the chose to rename myself I would probably pick the name Sapphire because Sapphires are a
very beautiful stone that comes in many different colours.

Serena Williams

Three things I learnt about Serena Williams:

  1. Serena has 4 sisters.
  2. She has had to play against her sister, Venus, in many tournaments.
  3. She had a health problem which many people thought she would not play again, but she did.
One thing I would still like to know about Serena is... If you lose against your sister how do you control your disappointment?

My dream job

Questions for Steven Adams

Here are 3 questions I have for Steven Adams:

  1. How many times do you practice in a week?
  2. What is it feel like to run out into a basketball stadium with the crowds cheering?
  3. Do you ever get nervous and how do deal with it?

Superpowers

      My superpowers would be...

  1.  Talking to animals. So I can understand animals better. I would use it to talk to animals to see how their feeling.
  2.  Flying. It would feel really cool to fly. I would use it to help with global warming by not using a car.
  3. Stay small forever. So I won't grow out of my pony. My pony is small so I need to stay small to ride her.

Brave pony

Last January me and my pony Rosie went on a pony camp in Reefton.  One day we went swimming in a river nearby.  Rosie was very brave to go into the ice cold water and actually swim with me on her back.  After we swam, we had to walk back through a trucking company site with lots of noisy trucks and machines working.  Rosie spooks a lot at things because she is scared of them because of her wild instincts.  But she was very brave and walked past them that day.

Poem for 1st step on moon

I am so excited this is my first time in space
Going so fast but no wind in my face
So pretty up here, as the moon looms
Big and round, shiny and smooth
Landing with a thud
Hopefully there is no mud!
Climbing down the ladder
Landing with a bump
First step feels like floating
Then I jump up and down gloating
This is the first step on the moon.

Charity interested in

The charity I am interested in is the RDA (Riding for the Disabled).

The RDA started in 1962 in Hawkes Bay.  There is a local RDA on the West Coast in Hokitika.  At the RDA people that need to go for various reasons get to ride ponies.  This gives them more confidence as riding ponies is a great thing to do and relaxes you.

My family culture

My family culture

In my family we all speak English.  My family all comes from New Zealand.

My Mum's side of the family has a lot of farming in their history with almost everyone riding horses.  Horses are special to me too.  My Dad's side of the family are interested in sport and music and this is what my brother is interested in as well.

Setting Sail - day 1

                                      Day 1 - Setting Sail

If I was invited to join Nainoa for three weeks at sea and was asked to pack my own food and there is NO fridge or nfreezer then I would take these foods:

  1.  WATER - We need water to survive!
  2.  Dehydrated meat - This would give you good protein.
  3. Potatoes - Good filling food that doesn't go off.
  4. Canned Tuna - Some more meat but must be kept in the can.
  5. Apples - A fruit.
  6. Carrots - Good vitamins.
  7. Pasta - Stays good for a while.
  8.  Rice - Stays good for a looong time.
  9. Dry apricots -  A dehydrated food.
  10. Corn flakes - Good breakfast food.
  11. Hard sweets -  A little treat food.
