New Zealand
New Zealand is a place with hills all around and beautiful scenery. The grass grow long and the animals go munch, munch on the delicious grass. Through the middle of the South Island there is a big cluster of mountains called the Southern Alps. To get over the Southern Alps you have to go over long windy roads. The West Coast of the South Island is known for heaps of rain and great walks and quite a few rivers and lakes to swim in.
Hello Alicia,
ReplyDeleteYou have really worked wonders in this description of New Zealand. Your description would be useful in a travel log or a travel magazine.
I wonder if the West Coast Tourism and Information centre would like to comment on what you have written. It could be a useful project for us all at school next year.

Hi Alicia!
ReplyDeleteAwesome describing - I like the way you have structured your writing working from big to small - talking about New Zealand as a whole first, then the South Island and finally the West Coast of the south Island - It sounds like a description you would hear while zooming in on New Zealand in google maps.
I really like the details you have added about the South Island and getting to the West Coast. I haven't been before so it was a great way for me to picture exactly what it would be like to travel there.
Do you have any rivers or lakes you would recommend for swimming in?
I love to swim during the summer, especially at the beaches - Have you been spending heaps of time in the water this summer?
Great work Alicia, this was a very entertaining piece of writing to read!
