Serena Williams

Three things I learnt about Serena Williams:

  1. Serena has 4 sisters.
  2. She has had to play against her sister, Venus, in many tournaments.
  3. She had a health problem which many people thought she would not play again, but she did.
  One thing I would still like to know about Serena is... If you lose against your sister how do you control your disappointment?

    Hi again Alicia,

    Well done on your blog post about Serena Williams. I knew about Serena and Venus, but I didn’t know they had another 3 sisters. That’s a big family!

    I think that is a great question to ask. Losing can be tough, especially to a sibling. Serena and Venus have played against each other professionally many times. I think Serena has beaten Venus 17 times, and lost 12 times. So they both have to deal with disappointment from time to time I think.

    They also play doubles matches together, so I’m sure their rivalry is a friendly one. Have you tried playing Tennis before?
